Moving away from the full moon, the bite is back on with numbers of black marlin being caught off the southern reefs near Cairns. Still many large fish are being encountered in Cairns as well as the smaller males.
Large numbers of dolphin fish should arrive over the next couple of weeks for those looking for some light tackle fishing action and fillets for the freezer.
Also good catches of Red Emperor and Nannygai taken on overnight reef fishing charters around Cairns and Great Barrier Reef as well as Lizard Island.
