Light Tackle Season is underway with juvenile Black Marlin arriving in North Queensland waters over the last few weeks. July to September we see the annual run of juvenile Black Marlin providing incredible fishing action on light tackle. A short run to the grounds, large bait schools form between the inshore reefs and the coast resulting in Marlin congregateing in numbers.
Hooking up to these explosive gamefish on light tackle is a rush and not to be missed.
Heavy Tackle Black Marlin Season is not far away for those interested in catching that fish of a lifetime. Cairns is the place to be with more giant black marlin caught and released between Cairns and Lizard Island each year than the rest of the worlds fishing destinations combined.
